BUSINESS: Currency rates update November 12: $113.01 to US$1

The Jamaican dollar crossed the $113 mark in trading yesterday, losing $0.11 against the United States dollar when compared with Monday’s average selling rate.

The local currency is now trading at an average of $113.01 to the United States dollar, 138 days after it cleared the $112 mark on June 26.

The highest selling rate was $117.70 and the lowest $92.02, according to the Bank of Jamaica foreign exchange trading summary dated November 11, 2014.

The average selling rate of the Canadian dollar yesterday was $99.35, the British Pound Sterling $179.72, while the euro sold for $140.49.
