BUSINESS: Currency rates update December 10: $114.03 to US$1

The Jamaican dollar crossed the $114 mark in trading today, losing $0.14 against the United States dollar when compared with yesterday’s average selling rate.

The local currency is now trading at an average of $114.03 to the United States dollar, a month after it cleared the $113 mark on November 11.

The highest selling rate was $119.84 and the lowest $111.50, according to the Bank of Jamaica foreign exchange trading summary.

The average selling rate of the Canadian dollar today was $99.18, the British Pound Sterling $178.41, while the euro sold for $141.48.
