Truth and reconciliation proposal under review
Senator
MacMillian yesterday announced that the Government is considering
a proposal for a period of truth and reconciliation at the Third
Biennial Jamaican Diaspora Conference in downtown Kingston.
However
he declined to provide details on the proposal.
Senator
MacMillan had recommended a period of truth and reconciliation in
an anti- crime roadmap that he prepared while the Jamaica Labour
Party (JLP) was in Opposition.
The
Permanent Secretary in the National Security Ministry, Gilbert Scott
disclosed that the Cabinet yesterday approved a submission for the
establishment of a transformation centre for young offenders.

conference ends today with focus on economic growth and Investment
development and the role of the church in social cohesion.
