Family Time is the title of Ziggy Marley's third solo album, which will be released May 5 by Tuff Gong International. The singer says it was inspired by his two youngest children, Judah and Gideon.

"After my last album I was thinking of what next to do, but I also found myself writing songs based on my activities with them," he told Tidbits Tuesday. "If we are to create change through music, then we have to reach the children."

Marley collaborated with pop legend Paul Simon, country superstar Willie Nelson and singer/songwriter Jack Johnson on Family Time which was produced by Don Was. He worked with Was when he was a member of the Melody Makers, on the group's Spirit of Music album.

There are 11 tracks on Family Time as well as two stories read by actress Jamie Lee Curtis, best known for her roles in Trading Places and A Fish Called Wanda.

Marley's previous solo albums are Dragonfly and Love Is My Religion. The latter won a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in 2007.
