Citizenship arrogance

The Editor, Sir:

Could one reason for the devastating outcome of the West Portland by-election for the Peoples National Party be that a significant number of electors felt 'dissed' by the party's arrogance?

The reason for the by-election was dual citizenship, but what did the PNP then do? Put up a dual citizen as their candidate!

Immorality, even when cloaked in the Constitution, is still immorality!

The Government needs to move speedily to enact legislation to the effect that persons with divided loyalties - be it green card or dual citizenship - while being welcome to serve in many other capacities, will certainly not be allowed to be in the position to pass legislation that will affect the lives of us 'locals', while they have the opportunity to walk away from it all, when anything goes awry.

I am, etc.
