Letter of the day - Civil service in rundown state
THE EDITOR, Sir: THE FREQUENCY and extent of the shortcomings and irregularities in the running of the government impels one to ask a simple question - where is the civil service in all of this?

This cop needs help

The Editor, Sir: I am writing about a letter you published on October 30, entitled 'Injured cycle cop needs help.'I think it is a downright shame and disgrace to the Ministry of National Security.

Refocus on real social issues

The Editor, Sir: While I do not question the veracity of those who have expressed concern over the inclusion of a family unit in our educational system, I do, however, question their sincerity about the future of our country.

A graduate's thanks to mentors, et al

The Editor, Sir: I am a recent graduate of the Bernard Baruch College in New York, and would like to say THANK YOU to a few of Jamaica's exceptional teachers, and some other outstanding people.

Youth and climate change

The Editor, Sir: The issue of climate change enjoys an international focus, through major advocacies by former United States President Al Gore, and locally, through the Jamaica Environmental Trust.

Pleadings from Lucea

The Editor, Sir: This an open letter to Councillor Audley Gilpin, Lucea Division:

Dear Mr. Gilpin: On June 7, 2004, we the citizen taxpayers of Camp Road/Haughton Court met with you to discuss the deplorable state of the roads and the lack of street lights in our community.

Gallantry after fiery crash merits award

The Editor, Sir: MY DEEPEST condolences go out to Theo Chambers Sr. and his family, as well as the friends and family of Christopher Clarke, who perished in such an unfathomably tragic manner in Westmoreland, Thursday last.
