The Editor, Sir:I am a recent graduate of the Bernard Baruch College in New York, and would like to say THANK YOU to a few of Jamaica's exceptional teachers, and some other outstanding people.
First, Mrs. Nella Perrier of Montego Bay for her tutoring, the foundation on which my education stands. Second, to Mrs. Hylton, an Accounting teacher at Mt. Alvernia High, who also taught us how to behave like ladies.
Third, is Mr. Watson, this mathematics teacher who is considered one of Jamaica's best mathematics teachers.
Fourth, I would not have attained my degree without the mentoring of Mrs. Audrey Marks-Dunstan and Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey. Words are not enough to convey my gratitude and respect for these two phenomenal ladies. I thank them for their friendship and priceless lessons in ethics, morality, lady-like charm and deportment.
To my aunt, Carlene Dewar, I owe my life, as it was she who nurtured me into womanhood; my cousin, Deon Brown, taught me the value of reading, listening and attentiveness. My father, Barrington Dewar, was a true example of what patience, kindness and respectfulness really is.
Although, I'm not usually in touch, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Rest assured that each of you have bestowed on me lessons that I have come to realise are foundations on which my own life stands.
I am, etc.,
CHERYL DEWAR
