EDITORIAL - A flawed genius moves on
As with most partings and farewells, there is more than a tinge of sadness in the announcement by Brian Lara that he will end his cricket career at the end of today's match between the West Indies and England in th Super Eight stage of the Cricket World Cup.

Luncheons, dinners, teas and parties

During the last three years, rarely a month passes without being invited to a luncheon, dinner or house party to celebrate a 40th or 50th wedding anniversary, or a 60th to 80th birthday anniversary of a friend. (Neita)

The Editor, Sir:

Please allow me space in the people's paper to write to Dr. Phillip Phinn. I am not condemning Dr. Phinn because I have no such power to do so. Not even Jesus when he was on earth had such power.

Issue: Nuisance of windscreen wipers

I am writing to express my annoyance with the lack of attention that is given to the problem of the 'windscreen wipers' and in the process appealing to the necessary authorities to remove all the 'windscreen wipers' from the stop lights across the country.
