LETTER OF THE DAY - Marketing the real problem in agriculture
THE EDITOR, Sir: AGRICULTURE ANYWHERE is a high-risk endeavour, what with the vagaries of weather, high input costs, international competition, and additionally in Jamaica, praedial larceny and terrible farm roads.

Solving crime with modern technology
THE EDITOR, Sir: For sometime I have wondered why has violent crimes been contained in a city like New York and has not made any significant escalation in Toronto. I don't for one moment believe that it has to do with arming their police force more.


Beware of the 'Greeks'
THE EDITOR, Sir: As the saying goes, one must be careful of the Greeks especially when they come bearing gifts. I here refer to Castro the communist and his Cuban technicians coming to Jamaica to screw light bulbs into our household electrical sockets.

THE EDITOR, Sir: I am a senior citizen and time and time again, there is an appeal on television to give financial assistance to some poor ailing child or adult who needs medical treatment. These medical treatments are most often costly...

THE EDITOR, Sir: Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller deserves some praise for her attempts to revitalise the sugar industry by securing a loan of US$100 million from Brazil.
