ATHLETICS: Bolt confirmed for Paris Diamond League

Jamaica's triple Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt has been confirmed to participate in the men's 100 metres at the Diamond League meeting in Paris on July 4.

Organisers says they managed to lure Bolt to run only his third ever 100 metre race on the Stade de France track, after liaising with other meet directors.

It will also be his first appearance at this meet since 2010.

Bolt is the 100 metre world record holder, winner of the 100 metre gold medals at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games and has won world titles at this event in 2009 and 2013.

He holds the Paris 100 metre meeting record with 9.79 seconds, which he clocked in 2009.

Last year, he had committed to running the 100 metres in the French capital, but had to withdraw because of a foot injury.

Bolt is expected to debut this season in the 400 metres at the Camperdown Classic on Saturday at the National Stadium.
