CRICKET: Hinds re-elected as WIPA president

Former West Indies batsman Wavell Hinds was re-elected unopposed to serve a second term as president of the West Indies Players Association (WIPA).

He was re-elected at the WIPA's annual general meeting, in Kingston last night, where the board of directors for the 2015 to 2017 term was elected.

Former West Indies pacer Nixon McLean who served on the previous executive as honorary treasurer will be the new vice-President.

Jamaican Wayne Lewis retained his position as honourary secretary while the new honourary treasurer is former West Indies captain and wicketkeeper Ridley Jacobs.

Windward Islands Volcanoes captain Liam Sebastien was elected as the assistant honorary secretary.
