CRICKET: Pakistan's Hafeez ruled out of World Cup

Pakistan's opening batsman Mohammad Hafeez has been ruled out of this month's World Cup tournament in New Zealand and Australia with an ankle injury, dealing another blow to the team's preparations.

Fast bowlers Umar Gul and Junaid Khan are also out because of injury.

Hafeez, a 34-year-old veteran who has played 155 one-day internationals has been replaced by left-handed opener Nasir Jamshed.

He has scored over four thousand runs and taken over 100 wickets in one-day Internationals.

Pakistan will play their first World Cup match against India in Adelaide on Saturday, February 14.
