BOXING: Axeman withdraws from March 21st fight

World Boxing Association Super Featherweight world champion Nicholas the Axeman Walters has withdrawn from the March 21 bout against Gamalier Rodriquez at Madison Square Garden and will instead have his first taste of action in April.

His preparation for the contest against Rodriquez has been affected by a bout of the flu according to Top Rank Promotions CEO Bob Arum.

As a result, Arum says the event will likely be moved to April at a site to be determined and he is still unaware of who the respective opponents will be for Walters and Terrence Crawford.

Walters, the 2014 Jamaican sportsman of the Year, had as his tentative opponent 28-year-old Puerto Rican Gamalier Rodriguez.
