Stacie-Ann Campbell, owner of Pebbles Pastries, makes no excuses for her love for cheesecakes.

Stacie-Ann Campbell's love for baking began as a young girl and now it has flowered into a career of a home-based cheesecake business called Pebbles Pastries.

As a child, Campbell loved to help her mother in the kitchen. Sundays was a big cooking and baking day in which she would play a part. After years of watching and helping her mother, she baked her first cake from scratch at 12 years old. "It turned out really good," said Campbell. Now an adult, she is following that tradition and on Sundays and holidays she bakes for family and friends.

Pebbles Pastries came from Campbell's love for baking and experimenting with new dishes. Usually, she baked the more popular types of cheesecake such as strawberry or cherry. But one day, about two years ago, her husband, Damion, asked her to bake him something new.

"The fact that I am a chocolate lover made me decide to try cappuccino flavour, it turned out very good and my husband loved it," she said.

Shortly after that, she tried two other flavours, Irish cream and rum and raisin for a family function, which she says everyone enjoyed immensely. She then decided turn her love into a home-based business.

Variety of flavours

Having less than a chunky slice of almond coffee cheesecake makes no sense.

Currently, Pebbles Pastries carries 22 flavours in three different sizes. Customers can get either whole or bite-sized cakes in any of the flavours, for birthday parties, bridal or baby showers, office parties and more. Pebbles Pastries will provide you with the tastiest cheesecake for your function.

Campbell said that since the recession, things have really slowed down, but she is hopeful that they will pick up for the Christmas.

With every business there are challenges, and for Campbell her challenge is that currently business is slow. "But in every setback she just focuses on the positive. Her greatest joy comes when, "I try new flavours and my clients call me and tell me they love my cakes. That's what keeps me satisfied and fulfilled."

She does not have a pastry shop, yet she is pushing to open a kiosk or shop by next year so people can come and enjoy her sinfully delicious treats.
