Tech Tease asks avid gadget lover, Jamila Hyre, what keeps you connected.

What's your favourite gadget?

My iPod Nano.

When did you get it and where?

I got it last summer in New York at a Target chain store.

How much did it cost?

It costs around US$180 and that was with matching headphones.

What makes it your favourite gadget?

I love music and to be able to have my favourite songs with me all the time is great.

How much storage space does it have?

It has 4GB, which basically means it can hold around 1,000 songs.

How many songs have you downloaded?

I have around 803 songs in genres ranging from dancehall to hip hop to alternative.

Where do you download music from?

Well, I mostly get songs through MSN messenger from friends but when I do downloads, I use www.bearshare.com or www.ares.com.

Why did you choose this iPod over others?

To be honest, it was the cutest one at the time. I like its size (small) and it's lightweight. I should have got it in colour!

What's one thing you don't like about it?

It freezes all the time - not sure if that's a manufacturer's fault or mine (laughs). Also, strangely, you have to wait until the battery dies before you can recharge it.

How would you improve your gadget?

Besides adding teal nail polish all over it, I'd actually add a memory card. I feel like I need more songs but I'm restricted.

What features don't you use?

The games. I don't even know what games are on it.
