Daryl, the expensive?

The Editor, Sir:

It is fascinating to me that Daryl Vaz's campaign slogan is 'Perfor-mance over loyalty', yet his performance so far has cost more than $28 million in court costs for his disregard for the Jamaican constitution.

He has further cost the taxpayers of this country another $40 million for a by-election, according to figures published in your newspaper by the Electoral Office of Jamaica. He is now costing the private sector another whopping sum of money in fund-raising costs for TV and print advertisements.

So, why in the world would the prime minister send back Daryl Vaz as a candidate for West Portland or for any other seat for that matter?

Perhaps we should nickname Daryl the most expensive performer of all times.
