It's early March! And already, the month is windy and 'hot' in many parts of this country, but the type of heat burning at Island Outposts' Goldeneye hideaway in St Mary is not easily cooled.
In fact, the remnants are still present, even after power couple, BCBG Azria's Pearl Lee and Pipit NYC's Dustin Horowitz exchanged vow in a seaside garden nuptials two weeks ago. The Gleaner has the inside on the wedding, which took place in the sanctuary made famous by Ian Flemming.
The bride donned a one-shoulder semi-mini Marc Jacobs design; the groom, former creative director at Tommy Hilfiger, paid tribute to Gucci, while their fingers showed off jewels from Tiffany and a grandfather's rich legacy.
"My grandfather, Sidney, was in the tie business and helped Ralph Lauren start his business in 1967, where he worked for the rest of his career until the mid '80s," Dustin Horowitz told The Sunday Gleaner.
It stands to reason why this wedding attracted so many A-listers; like fashion mogul, Tommy Hilfiger and his wife, Dee Ocleppo; style executives John Idol and Silas Chou of Michael Kors; designers, Rogan Gregory, Maurice Malone and Lisa Marie Fernandez; Fred Gehring and Carlos Ortega formed the impressive group that jetted in from all over the United States to witness the three-day once-in-a-lifetime affair.
Breaking ground on Friday night with a magnificent beach party under the stars, Goldeneye's Jenny Wood and her team created a spectacular bonfire making claim to the skies that hovered over the 100 guests who turned out.
On Saturday, at 5 p.m., guests were seated in a sunken garden, under two almond trees, the ocean forming a backdrop, as the Korean-born Lee and her true American-born love, Horowitz, repeated the vows, "I do".
Instead of confetti, guests threw bird seeds, while a reggae band strung the sounds of the land. Celebrity New York DJ Cassady spun the music, while renowned photographers Hollister Lowe, Matt Albiani and Steve Freihon fell in with the rest of the 'in-people'.
On Sunday, a simple, yet elegant brunch of Bloody Marys and Mimosas closed three days of what Dustin Horowitz described as "the perfect setting for a wedding, because of the attention to detail, amazing food and the best staff".
