British High Commissioner Jeremy Cresswell hosted a reception last Thursday for Richard Morris, CEO of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) in London. His visit is part of the centenary celebrations of the ABRSM exams being conducted in Jamaica.

The internationally acclaimed and globally celebrated actor/singer/social activist and humanitarian, Harry Belafonte and his equally celebrated wife of two months, the absolutely charming Pamela, jetted into Kingston late Monday evening to give a keynote speech at the diaspora conference that was under way here in Kingston.

It's a new look for KFC!

New look, new uniforms, and new restaurants; but the same good taste. KFC, one of the island's favourite fast-food outlets, is sporting a new look, and directors, suppliers and business partners celebrated that on Wednesday evening at the KFC outlet on Old Hope Road; the very first one ever built.

Scotiabank Jamaica wins Silver Screen Award

Scotiabank Jamaica's Teller Production team, led by Zoë Welsh, won a Silver Screen Award and Certificate for Creative Excellence at the recent United States International Film and Video Festival in Hollywood.

The 'Thais' that bind

In an effort to promote a greater awareness of, and appreciation for, the people and culture of the Royal Thai Kingdom, Thailand's non-resident ambassador, Snanchart Devahastin, and Thailand's Jamaican Consul General, Thalia Lyn, hosted a charming and smart cocktail reception last Sunday at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel, to officially launch the inaugural Thai Week.
