Then my daahlings, when we say destination Jamaica is the world's hottest place, we do so mean it, and to underline this point, the internationally acclaimed and globally celebrated actor/singer/social activist and humanitarian, Harry Belafonte and his equally celebrated wife of two months, the absolutely charming Pamela, jetted into Kingston late Monday evening, not for a bit of rest and relaxation as is the norm for the international jetsetters, but moreso to give a keynote speech at the diaspora conference that was under way here in Kingston.

Well, my dears, Harry Belafonte is an old family friend of the Issa family, and with John and Aida Issa and their fabulous daughter Muna away on family business, it was the lovely Zein Issa-Nakash who entertained the celebrated couple, and how!

Just fabulous

Luvs, it was a case of fabulous is as fabulous does, and in this case fabulous was a very charming and intimate brunch on Tuesday, at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel. During a trip to the historic landmark, Devon House, the honoured guests had his first ice cream cone in more than 30 years, and spoke of his delight in the new flavours now available at the location.

And then it was on to an audience with Prime Minister Bruce Golding; a courtesy call on Information, Culture and Sports Minister Olivia 'Babsy' Grange, before going to the diaspora conference to deliver the keynote speech. He jetted out early on Wednesday morning.

My dears, talk about a whirlwind visit! Well, this was it and fabulously so, but keep your eyes on these pages as the word is, there is a fab, international concert in the offing, and we are talking of the likes never before seen here, so wait for it!
