Saving the good men
If Errol Bolt, senior pastor at the Kencot Christian Fellowship Church in St. Andrew, is right about the effect (or, rather, lack thereof) of the Church and women on men's behaviour, as reported in yesterday's Gleaner, then we are in more serious trouble than the already staggering murder rate indicates.

The early civil service

The last time I saw her was when we worked as young civil servants in the Public Works Department many, many years ago. She still wears a smile that makes people in her presence happy. She still glows despite the meagre pension she receives each month from the Accountant General. - Hartley Neita

Issue: The chauvinistic reverend

I am very disappointed with the sentiments expressed by the Reverend Bolt at Thursday's Gleaner Editors' Forum where he said women can't teach boys what they need to know, and that men need to take back their place in society etc.
