EDITORIAL - Back to the hustings for the parish polls
TODAY IS Nomination Day for the upcoming local government elections and we trust that it will pass peacefully. All parties need to act responsibly as the political dust has hardly settled since the general election and there is a renewed turbulence in the air.

GPs are alive and well

In his piece, 'No GP's around anymore', published Saturday, November 10, erudite and respected veteran Gleaner columnist, Hartley Neita, reminisced as he lamented the perceived virtual disappearance of the venerated general (medical) practitioner. (Rattray)

Importance of employees

The Editor, Sir: WHETHER YOU agree with me or not, employees are the ones who make a company and as such continue to ensure the company's existence.

Noteworthy - Crime embedded

The politicians have failed miserably over the years to put in place policies that would achieve changes in the crime and violence that has embedded itself in and is eating away at the society like a cancerous tumour.

Tackle all corruption

The Editor, Sir: It is very interesting to hear from the former PNP administration asking the Government where the money will come from for 'free' education and health care.
