LETTER OF THE DAY: 'Dean' provides pause for introspection - and clarity to vote
The Editor, Sir: As a friend reminded me in a recent exchange, "If you want to see God laugh, tell him your plans. "Now while our encounter with 'Dean' is by no means a laughing matter, I cannot help but wonder about its significance and timing for us...
We shall overcome
The Editor, Sir: Hurricane Dean has left myself and other members of the diaspora in fear and trembling. This is due to the fact that we have been unable to communicate with our family and friends (especially in the rural and most affected areas).
'Silly Season' election
THE EDITOR, Sir: My deepest sympathies to all my fellow Jamaicans who have been affected by the onslaught of Hurricane Dean. I hope and trust that we will all come together as a people and do whatever we can to assist those in need, in this time of calamity.
Spared again!
The Editor, Sir: I must first thank and commend you all for the amazing job you are doing at the Gleaner company. My letter is in regards to the recent hurricane that hit Jamaica. Thank the Lord God Almighty one more time he has spared our beautiful island.
