WESTERN BUREAU:

With conviction and passion, Dwight Anthony Moore repeated the words "I will", and even his emphasis on "lawful wife" was profound.

Last Saturday, the Kingston businessman not only entered the distinguished fraternity of married men, but he also handed over the name Moore to attorney-at-law Sharon Annette Milwood in a well-attended wedding ceremony at the Saxthorpe Methodist Church, Constant Spring Road in the capital city.

The couple's path crossed years ago, when Milwood sought to purchase a car from her husband's car mart. Lady Love captured Moore's heart and soul.

Officiating Minister Reverend Everald Galbraith, in what was commendably a short and spicy ceremony, spoke of the significance of the newly-weds taking that "car selling day" to another phase in life's journey.

"I am recommending that you communicate with each other, share your hopes and dreams, fears, concerns, while continuing to appreciate each other," he said.

Constant respect

Affirming constant respect for each other was just one of the many pieces of advice given by the minister in advance of the unity ceremony which saw the couple presenting the light that would pilot their very existence.

One hour after the extremely talented artiste Richie Stephens crooned Here and Now, sisters of the couple, Natalie Moore and Winsome Strachan respectively, lit the candles, master saxophonist Ian Hird gave his musical rendition and Moore gave a long-lasting kiss to his bride, the congregation departed for the reception at the Mona Visitors' Lodge at the University of the West Indies.

Tastefully-done venue

Guests were greeted by a tastefully-done venue, highlighted with ocean blue and earth tone decorations expertly created by Jacqui Stephens of Exquisite Occasions. This was complemented by a three-tiered cake by Selena Wong and MC Alrick Blake who would outdo himself for the rest of the evening. He must have eaten alphabet soup all his life!

Exquisite Occasions did the décor and Pauline Milwood, the bride's sister, who is the manager of the Mona Visitors' Lodge, facilitated the catering and entire planning for the reception.

Musical maestro AJ Brown, Richie Stephens and cabaret performer Joan Dixon provided entertainment and their scintillating rendition of musical selections from the groom as 'our gift of music to you,' won the hearts of guests who rewarded them with a standing ovation.

The couple went on an all-island tour for their honeymoon.
