Evolution of slavery

The Editor, Sir: In Jamaica, August 1 and 6 are celebrated each year as Emancipation and Independence days, respectively. All reasonable individuals of Jamaican roots would naturally have no qualms with our recognising these days.

Gov't assisting with tuition fees

The Editor, Sir: The Government has made it clear that it will pay tuition fees for those students whose parents are unable to pay. In my opinion, I think the Government has made a tremendous decision to cater for less fortunate students by subsidising tuition fees.
