A fair analogy
published: Wednesday | March 31, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I BELIEVE that a fair analogy can be drawn between the JLP and the West Indies cricket team. Both were once at the top of their games, both have had a recent history of consistent infighting and squabbles, both have been on a losing streak for a long time and both currently have highly controversial leaders.

The million-dollar question is, "Why have these two organizations with such rich and diverse histories not been able to recapture the winning formula they once had?" One thing is certain - harmony is a key element of success. Historically, the teams which have dominated in their respective sports over the decades have been those where harmony reigned supreme. A unit with much talent but little harmony will fail.

"Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success." (Henry Ford)

I am, etc.,
