Congrats Ms Wong
published: Wednesday | March 31, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

KINDLY ALLOW me space to say 'thank you' and 'congratulation' to Ms. Laureen Wong, businesswoman and voluntary social worker, within the town of Annotto Bay for the tremendous job that she is doing, especially among needy children and homeless people.

The many she feeds on a weekly basis thus allowing them to get a well needed education is a source of pride, and as someone who comes from the vein of the community it certainly warms my heart. If we are to walk away from the crime wave now plaguing our beautiful land and give more hope to our people - and especially the young - then we need more Laureen Wongs not only in Annotto Bay but across Jamaica.

Mrs. Wong, to the needy children of Annotto Bay you are, as the poet says, "A friend walks in when everyone else walks out." Tenk yuh!

I am, etc.,
