Playing at the National Indoor Sports Centre, The Bahamas went down in straight sets to Mexico 13-25, 20-25, 16-25, while Haiti recovered from their straight sets loss to Jamaica to beat Cayman Islands 25-15, 25-19, 25-16.
Entering the match on a high following their stunning comeback against St Lucia on Wednesday, The Bahamians were totally outplayed by the big-hitting Mexicans in the Pool B clash.
don't have the rhythm
Leonardo Manzo led Mexico with 14 points, while Tomas Aguilera slammed 12 kills and added four blocks.
For The Bahamas, Shedrick Forbes and Renaldo Knowles each hauled in nine points.
"The important (thing) was to win but we still don't have the rhythm," said Mexico's coach Jorge Azair.
"I hope to improve that in the upcoming days. Our blocking was good today but can be better as we have better serves."
Haiti, meanwhile, redeemed themselves well with a convincing performance in Pool A.
Roudolphe Gaethan led the French side with 11 points, while Olney Thompson was the leading attacker for Cayman Islands with 12 kills.
Haiti's coach Yves Larrieux said he was impressed with the side's showing, especially with the country now finding its feet after a long break from tournament action.
"The team played more or less to a good level," Larrieux explained.
"Yesterday we were very tired after a long day at the airport. This is our first international competition in 10 years."
