Three trophies are at stake on today's Jockey Guild programme at Caymanas Park, among them the overnight allowance race for the George HoSang Trophy over the straight-five course and Jamaica Jockeys' Guild Trophy at 1400 metres.

Also on the card are the four-year-old maiden condition race for the Al Gopie Memorial Cup over the straight course, along with the CTL Stable Riders' Race over 800 metres straight for conditional $180,000 claimers.

The latter race has attracted 12 starters and most of the riders engaged are currently trainees at the jockeys' school.

Contenders

The main contenders in what promises to be a highly-competitive race for the George HoSang Trophy are the stable companions NATURALLY ROYAL and SKYWAY EXPRESS.

Others with good chances of winning are FIRST TIME LUCKY, who has looked real sharp at exercise coming into the race, 2008 'Claimer of the Year' AGUILA, who has been knocking at the door, and the super-fit YAMASHITA'S GOLD, who ran the highly-touted American three-year-old filly, LITTLE WASP, pretty close last Saturday.

All the ingredients are there to make it an interesting race and it should pose a challenge for even the most knowledgeable punter to figure out the hi-five.

Champion trainer Wayne DaCosta holds a strong hand with proven campaigners NATURALLY ROYAL and SKYWAY EXPRESS, both fully effective over the straight.

With stable and champion jockey Omar Walker opting to ride NATURALLY ROYAL, the hint should be taken.

Back on February 7 NATURALLY ROYAL, with Harriston Lewis aboard, failed by only a neck to stave off his more fancied stable companion, THE GUARDIAN, in a fast-run (57.1) race over the straight and a reproduction of that performance should make him hard to beat, with Walker now taking the ride.

Effective over the straight

NATURALLY ROYAL has proved competitive in two subsequent races, finishing behind 2000 Guineas favourite BRUCEONTHELOOSE and RIGMAROLE, respectively.

Back in action from the convenient mark of 53.0kg, the five-year-old son of Royal Minister-Unnatural is confidently expected to fight out the finish as he is very effective over the straight.

NATURALLY ROYAL reports in good condition and despite the sound claims of main rivals FIRST TIME LUCKY, AGUILA and YAMASHITA'S GOLD, is tipped to rebound.

Other selections

The Dwight Chen-trained FIRST TIME LUCKY finished 11 lengths third to the DaCosta-trained COM-MANDER ZERO in a fast-run 1100-metre race on March 14 and have stripper fitter for today's event.

The four-year-old gelding has good speed and with only 50.0kg and title-chasing jockey Paul 'Country' Francis aboard, should give NATURALLY ROYAL most to do.

I also like unbeaten STEEL DE CAT to romp the second race, ISLA in the fifth, MOST WANTED ahead of TUTOR in the sixth, JAMMING for the Jockeys Guild Trophy and SERGEANT STONEHAN over NEPTUNE in the nightpan.
