Gleaner, Cement final
published: Saturday | August 23, 2008

The Gleaner and Carib Cement, both former champions, face off in the Western Sports/KSAFA Business House Division I football final at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex this afternoon, starting at 4:00.

In the first match at 2 p.m., Cable & Wireless take on JNBS in the Division II final after both had scored upset wins in the semi-finals. Cable & Wireless clipped Wisynco 1-0, courtesy of a first-half goal from Jerome Wedderburn, while JNBS shocked KO champions Petrojam 2-0, thanks to a double strike from Kimani Young.

In Division I, The Gleaner defeated table-topping UWI 2-0 in Wednesday's semi-final, thanks to a brace from centre forward Kenrick Picknight, while a hat-trick from ace striker Fabian Nethersole spear-headed Carib Cement to a 3-2 victory over pre-season favourites Supreme Ventures Limited, in the other semi-final on Wednesday.
