Olympic Games spark partnership pledge
published: Thursday | August 21, 2008

The Jamaican diaspora in the United Kingdom has declared that it stands ready to partner with the Government and private sector in an effort to invest more in Jamaicans.

The declaration came by way of a release yesterday following another superb performance by Jamaicans on the track.

"We must use this opportunity to invest in the human capital of our beloved nation, so that the country can achieve its fullest potential," read the release.

Jamaicans in the United Kingdom joined the celebration yesterday as Jamaica earned another world record and two gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics in China.

"The performances bring a sense of pride to all Jamaicans across the length and breadth of the United Kingdom, as positive images of our country are displayed on the world stage," said the release.
