The Editor, Sir:
The Bible is life's instruction manual, and all persons who have accepted that this book is God's inspired word to mankind need to refer to James 1:12 "But be doers of the word and not hearers only deceiving yourselves".
We are required as Christians to pray for all men and for all those in authority (Timothy, chapter 2: 1-2). Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings, and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life.
I notice that Christian leaders of various denominations are wounding one another with the 'sword' of the pen in letters in your newspaper. God has promised that the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous availeth much.
Finally, Mark 12: 30, "Thou shalt love the lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy mind and with all thy strength". This is the first commandment and the second is this: "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself" .
Please, brethren, let us, therefore, apply the Bible to our lives and love and pray one for another as God will reward or punish whom He will.
I am, etc.,
