Old-timers can help agriculture
published: Wednesday | August 6, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

I am encouraged by the govern-ment's new-found love affair with agriculture. However, wasting time to tell us how important this venture is will not solve the problem. Every child who spends a weekend in the countryside can lecture these 'experts 'on that subject.

Have chat with one of the 'old heads' and the problem is solved.

No youngster is going to work for the fun of it, the way grandpa did. Up early Monday to Friday, tired and ' broke-pocket' Saturday to Sunday.

In order for us to succeed, we need the attention of our leaders, in the area of water and transportation, safe venues to sell our products, protection from praedial theft.

I am, etc.,

L. M. Henry
