TOP FEMALE football coach Tracy Reid, who guided St. James' Granville FC to three titles in her four years as head coach, has announced her resignation from the club with immediate effect, citing irreconcilable differences with other members of the club.
"Some people are ques-tioning my integrity and seeking to drag my reputation through the mud and I will not have it," said Reid. "I cannot deal with the cruel innuendos and lies so I think it is best that I step aside."
Reid, who served for many years as club administrator before she was reluctantly ushered into the coaching position when the team, considered an extremely difficult outfit to coach, was unable to find a male coach willing to work with it.
"I took up the coaching of the team when nobody wanted them." said Reid. "I have been the one going to all the meetings, arranging games, marking the field, you name it, I was the one doing it," she said.
In Reid's tenure as coach, Granville qualified for three consecutive Captain's Bakery Western Super League finals, winning once and copping two mid-season titles.
