The Editor, Sir:

If Robert Mugabe was white, black people would be losing their collective minds. Apparently, when you are black it shields you from the rule that governs others. This man has been able to brutalise and kill his people with impunity, protected by people like South African President Mbeki.

Main reason

One of the main reasons that Africa has not kept pace with other continents is because of people like Mugabe. Africans must decide what kind of continent they want and what kind of leaders they want to lead their countries.

It's not always so black and white.
