We know Sandra Glasgow, CEO of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica, is in good hands with (from left) Earl Jarrett, general manager of Jamaica National Building Society; Llewelyn Bailey, assistant general manager of JNBS; and Chris Hind, acting general manager of NEM Insurance.

Long gone are the days when assistants and secretaries merely poured coffee, took dictation and walked around like drones just waiting for their bosses next command.

The administrative assistants/secretaries are some of the most powerful individuals in modern companies and, at times, their proficiency, or lack thereof, heavily influences the performance at the top levels of these entities. And if the head doesn't work, the body won't do too well.

So to say thanks to their assistants and secretaries, Jamaica National Building Society hosted them on Wednesday, April 23, with a luncheon at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel. Corsages and mini-waterfalls were part of the royal treatment these special persons received.

Every invited guest was presented with a gift; a testament to the theme of the luncheon, 'Celebrating Your Invaluable Contribution'.

Guests included Janice McIntosh, Sherele Brown, Maxine Davis, Chris Hind, Gail Kamicka, Opal Halsall, Tayalee Johnson, Esther-Francis Hill, Tanya Lindo, Cathy Brown, Dorothea Ziadie, Lisa Chambers, Andrea Cox, Stacy Manicksingh, Philip Bernard, Patricia Mudie, Donovan Lim and Carol Madden.
