Harbour View's substitute Andre Fagan denied Reno a rare win against front-running teams in the Cash Plus Premier League when he scored in the second minute of stoppage time for the game to end 2-2 yesterday at St Elizabeth Technical High School.
Reno had not scored a win since beating Village 1-0 four games prior, and captain Nicholy Findlayson looked to have given them the hope of three points when he scored in the 83rd minute for a 2-1 lead.
Young Fagan, promoted from the Under-21 team and also nursing a cut on his eye only a few minutes earlier, got home a courageous header from a heavy traffic of Reno players.
Harbour View looked mild in attack with the absence of key players Jermaine Hue and their feared attacking duo of Fabian Taylor and Kavin Bryan, and it was Reno who got the early chances. Kendrie Quarrie found himself in an unchallenged position to head past Dwayne Miller, but could only find the crossbar, a miss that would prove costly in the end.
TRICKLING BALL
Recardo Scott also sneaked his way inside the six-yard area, got off a shot that rebounded off goalkeeper Miller but it would require a heavy lunge from the onrushing Dwayne Plummer to get the trickling ball over the line for the first goal in the 17th minute.
Reno would pay the price for not enough focus when approaching intervals and Rafique Thomas was able to head past their inexperienced goalkeeper Chad Blair, who was in only his second game for Reno.
Harbour View's coach Lenworth Hyde Sr seemed satisfied to salvage the point, having dropped all three last time out. They remain on 34 points, surrendering a top-four spot for the first time this season. Reno crawled to 26 points, leaving them exposed to the reach of the relegation-threatened bottom two of Village (23) and August Town (21).
