'Animals' party on the farm

RIGHT: Every second Saturday during December, doctors Joy Williams (right) and her husband Geoffrey give the animals at their farm, 'Animal Farm' in Lethe, St. James, total control of their property, while adults such as attorney Jeannie Robinson-Foster (left) and Neil Glasgow (centre) take a back seat lyming at their annual Christmas party.

WESTERN BUREAU:

The invite distinctly stated, 'This is not an invitation. This is an edict from the animals at the farm for you to attend our annual party on Saturday, December 8'.

Instruction continued: Be there at 12:00 noon. (Decision taken at our last monthly council meeting held at Methane Mall at the farm).

George Orwell's Animal Farm had been reincarnated by doctors Geoffrey and Joy Williams, and those in receipt of the hilariously funny email weren't surprised that the signatories were occupants of the cleanest and prettiest 'pigsty' in Jamaica, 'Lady P' and 'Baby G'.

They were, however, consoled by the assurance that all in attendance would be in the care of the humans on the farm, who had been instructed on every detail of the day's events.

The only extra special request from the pigs was: "As us pigs are more equal than the other animals on the farm, it would be personally offensive to us if the eating of pork were to take place in the vicinity of the pigsty, and we ask that you limit this activity to the prescribed areas. (The other animals are not smart enough to know the difference, so you may eat any other meat freely on the farm)."

Good food

Two hours after the event got into first gear and DJ Fingaz began to 'Rock the Boat', chicken, goat, fish and the ultimate succulent pork were tastefully cooked and well laid out on the buffet tables for the devouring of those travelling from every 'crevice and corner' of the island for what has become the calendar event of the year.

Those spotted included: Drs. Delroy Fray, Barry Hastings and wife Dew, Horace Chang, Jaunette and Valence Williams, Custos Clarence Nelson, Godfrey Dyer, Vandyke McKenzie, Hilary Marsh, Margaret Jobson, Sandra and Neil Glasgow, Junior Minister of National Security, Arthur Williams and Metty Scarlett-Jones.
