Highgate, Windalco in great form
published: Monday | November 19, 2007

Highgate United and Windalco Kirkvine Sports Club (KSC) both shared victories in rescheduled matches of the Jamaica Table Tennis Association Northwest Development National Table Tennis Club League, at the St. Mary High School auditorium yesterday.

Highgate United edged Windalco KSC 3-2 in the women's competition, and Windalco KSC won the division four encounter by a similar scoreline.

In the women's competition national junior representative Tracy-Ann Dattadeen of Highgate United competed in two events. Dattadeen overpowered Camille Clarke 3-0 in her first meeting and won her second match by default. Davene Buchanan also won a match by default, accounting for Highgate United's three victories.

The two consolation triumphs for Windalco KSC came from a singles match in which reigning business house champion Andrea Wadsworth eased past Kemolyn Frost 3-0 and in the doubles event Dattadeen and Frost clipped Wadsworth and Clarke 3-0.

Victories

In division four encounters, Tyrone Blake and Mario Wisdom had similar 3-1 victories over Anthony Samaroo and Ainsley Segree, respectively, in singles matches.

Wisdom and Jamie Allen trounced Samaroo and Horace Chung 3-0 in doubles action, to aid Windalco KSC's three conquests. Chung turned back Giancarlo Grant 3-1 and David Hylton defeated Allen 3-1, attributing to Highgate United's two consolation wins.

The league continues tomorrow with two division two matches. Ensom United will entertain former champions Windalco KSC I at 1 Delido Drive, Ensom City, Spanish Town, and Windalco KSC II will be at home to newcomers Hy-Performance at Ingleside Wellness & Recreation Centre in Mandeville.
