TGIF - where it's always Fridays
published: Thursday | October 25, 2007

Simply delicious, apples simmered in their own juices, flavoured with cinnamon, vanilla and brown sugar. Sprinkled with crisp oatmeal crumbles, topped with vanilla ice cream and hot caramel. One of the desserts that can be enjoyed at TGI Friday's during KRW. - Colin Hamilton/Freelance Photographer

Location: 51 Hope Road

Food: American

Because it's always Fridays at TGI Friday's Restaurant and Bar, whatever you do or eat there will always be in a fun atmosphere. That is the guarantee of General Manager, Norda Greene.

This fun and relaxed atmosphere is reflected in the décor and extends to the attire of the waitresses. Green explained that the various 'characters' they portray are an extension of that individual's personality.

With the capacity to accommodate 105 of your closest friends, it's a favourite for birthdays and all forms of celebrations. If someone in the house is having a birthday you will know by the ringing of the bell. If it's yours, then you will have the privilege of being serenaded by members of staff with some pretty unconventional birthday songs. If you want more excitement, pots and pans can be brought into play and even the fire hose.

This their second year in The Gleaner-sponsored Kingston Restaurant Week (KRW), the fact that they are in the Savoury category is to further dispel the belief that it is expensive. Green reiterates that there are items on the menu that are extremely affordable. There is also a lunch menu with drastically-reduced prices. So, this is your perfect opportunity to make it Fridays every day for a week at TGI Friday's
