Terra Nova's Regency Room - elegant and terrific
published: Thursday | October 25, 2007

Nashauna Drummond, Acting Lifestyle Editor

The crown jewel of dining experience at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel, is the romantic Regency Room. Old world charm and sophistication fill this opulently appointed a-la-carte restaurant where Maitre D' Frank Gilmore gives his complete concentration and seemingly-effortless attention to dinner guests, who come to enjoy the variety of culinary pleasures; be it shrimp martinis, escargot, lobster thermidor or the signature dish - rack of lamb.

During The Gleaner-sponsored Kingston Restaurant Week, the excellent service will be no different.

This 45-seat room with its twinkling chandeliers, warm chocolate and merlot- coloured decor, gold-leaf finish and beautiful flowers offers an unparalleled dining experience in Kingston.

Known for its beautiful setting, the restaurants at the Terra Nova have deservedly earned a reputation for excellent cuisine and remarkable attention to detail.

Fresh, lively atmosphere

The sound of falling water at the Terrace enhances the fresh and lively atmosphere. Each morning the chefs showcase their skills producing a typically Jamaican buffet breakfast. Breakfast is truly a scrumptious affair any day of the week, and has become somewhat of a tradition for families, friends and the business community.

Wednesday nights offer a seafood feast and on Thursday afternoons high tea is a lavish affair in the English tradition - a regular event on many social calendars.

Sunday brunch, in the magnificent Venetian, is a true feast for all, with over 80 delicious, hot, cold and sweet items, enjoyed to the sound of live steel band music. The grounds are also a favourite for many to profess their undying love.
