VOX POP - Do you think Brian Larashould have retired from international cricket?
published: Saturday | April 21, 2007

From left, Carol Knight, Barrington Myrie, Johnnny James, Easton Gordon, Wayne Blake and Archibald McKella

Do you think Brian Lara should have retired from international cricket?

  • Carol Knight

Yes, because the authorities are pressuring him and him alone can't carry the team on his back. However, I thought he was a good captain.

  • Barrington Myrie

Yes, I think that he should have retired long time ago. The age of Lara has begun to show now. You can see it in his batting, because he is not in the shape of a player like Sanath Jayasuriya, so I believe that he made a wise decision.

  • Johnny James

I think that he should have retired from the captaincy position but as a batsman I think that he is one the greatest batsmen so I didn't think he should have retired from cricket.

  • Easton Gordon

No, he has one of the best strike rates in cricket and I believe that he is the best man to captain the team right now.

  • Wayne Blake

Yes, because the players in the team are not comfortable with Lara anymore, so therefore they are not pulling their weight anymore.

  • Archibald McKella

No, I really believe that he should have stayed until the tour of England. I think that he still has a lot to offer to the guys, because we have an inexperienced team right now.
