Policeman surrenders
published: Thursday | June 22, 2006

SPANISH TOWN, St. Catherine:

A POLICE constable, who reportedly fled during a sting operation set up in Old Harbour on Monday, involving an alleged case of bribery, has turned himself over to the commanding officer for the South St. Catherine Division.

The lawman, whose name has been withheld, had apparently planned to collect money from a man for an offence committed. He is said to have fled the scene after recognising that his colleagues were after him.

An investigation is being conducted by the members of the Professional Standards Branch.
