Wrong use of NHT funds

THE EDITOR, Sir:
I, LIKE most residents and persons born in the parish of Trelawny, but who may have moved, are heartened by the news of the proposed major resort developments known as 'Harmony Cove'.
In my own case, I am a contributor to the National Housing Trust and despite the benefits which will flow to the parish if the project materialises, I very strongly object in principle to NHT contributions being used to build hotels, golf courses, etc.
My understanding is that our contributions were intended to be used to provide affordable housing, which is hardly available in Jamaica today.
I call upon all other NHT contributors to join the protest.
I am, etc.,
