JUTC giving back to customers
published: Wednesday | August 11, 2004

JAMAICA URBAN Transit Company (JUTC) buses will be noticeably cleaner for the month of August as the company's customer appreciation drive gets under way, giving passengers more reason to hold on to their tickets.

The offer sees passengers being able to travel on the buses from Monday to Saturday 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with one ticket providing unlimited travel for one passenger on the JUTC network. The service continues after 2:00 p.m. until close of operation on the day of purchase.

It gets even better on Sunday and public holidays as one ticket lasts throughout the entire day. According to the company's pubic relations officer, Peta-Gaye Hodges, "It's our sixth anniversary and we've decided to give back to our customers". The service, which will allow passengers unlimited travel throughout the bus network, will not take passengers across zones.

The public response has been so overwhelming, most JUTC buses run at full capacity, with passengers timing the bus at the cut-off point of 2:00 p.m. to ensure that they won't have to buy another ticket.
