Finger-printing for Jamaicans
published: Wednesday | August 11, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I CONTINUE to read about the high incidence of crime, and the continuous argument as to how it must be dealt with.

In all of this, I have not heard any support for the request by the police for the introduction of finger-printing of our citizens.

This simple but indeed challenging act, needs to be immediately implemented, and should not be objected to by any egotistical or arrogant position, especially in this time of high crime.

For my part, if I can accept having this done to me in an alien country on entry to the United States then should I really object to this in the interest of my homeland?

I call for support to the police and for the urgent implementation of this request, and the national registration of our citizens.

I am, etc.,

MIKE HENRY, C.D. M.P

Central Clarendon
