Summary of Population Counts:

The tables in this report are based on the adjusted data. The adjustments were
guided by the use of standard demographic analysis based on the 2001 census count
and vital statistics for the intercensal period. This was supplemented in part by
findings of the Post Enumeration Survey conducted immediately following the main
enumeration.

Adjustment factors based on age and sex for each parish have been applied to the
enumerated population.

Adjustment factors are calculated to 5 decimal places. The final adjusted figures are
rounded to the nearest ten.

Rounding may cause discrepancies between totals and the sums of the component
parts of a table.
6.
The tabulations are based on different population groups, determined by the
questions posed to these groups. The population totals for each main set of tables are
as follows:
Age and Sex by Parish, Urban-Rural: all groups- 2,697,983
Constituency and Special Areas : persons enumerated on the streets excluded:
2,697,049

All other tabulations: persons in private dwellings and institutions (See Background
to the Census – Types of Institutions (i)-(v)): 2,683,000
