ANNOTTO BAY, St Mary:
Six basic schools in St Mary on Tuesday received extinguishers from the United Way of Jamaica and Jamaica Producers Limited.
In making the donation, chief executive officer of United Way, Winsome Wilkins, said she recognised that the work the teachers were doing was very important and urged them to continue giving of themselves.
Corporate affairs manager at Jamaica Producers, Lisa Johnston, said her company was very happy to partner with United Way and would continue to assist.
The donation, which took place at the St Theresa's Basic School in Annotto Bay, saw Preston Land, Pleasant Hill, Oxford, Albany, Valley Christian and St Theresa's basic schools each getting a fire extinguisher.
