Saturday, March 21 saw hundreds of retired banker Lanville Henry's closest joining him for his annual birthday party in Robin's Bay, St Mary. Henry, whose actual birthday was Wednesday, March 18, has been having the parties since the mid '70s.

The much-anticipated calendar event is a must-attend for party animals from all over the island. It got off to a fun-filled afternoon start at about five o'clock and things only cooled down after 1 a.m. when the rains came.

Array of local favourites

There was the usual well-stocked bar and a wide array of local favourites including mannish water, a soup dubbed 'gumbo', jerk pork and chicken, curried goat, rice and peas, coconut pork, roast beef and more. Finger foods included fried green plantains and escoveitched saltfish.

Dancing feet were kept busy by turntable experts, DJ Chris Buddo, ZJ Steel, True Republic Disco, DJ Profile, Ivor Smith and DJ Craig Ross.
