Coleen B. Lewis, an attorney-at-law by profession, is recognised by those in the know as the creator and producer of the popular television series, Comedy Buss and a co-owner of SI WI YAH ENTERTAINMENT. While Comedy Buss was on a break last year, Lewis was not. She returned to one of her passions, acting. She was one of the actors in MADKOW Productions' much-celebrated satirical revue, Season Rice originally staged last July.

Rave reviews

Fresh out of acting in another play, Robin Baston's Jamaica - Ah So It Go, where critics gave her rave reviews for her performance, Lewis moves into uncharted waters - that of producer.

Beginning Wednesday for one month, a cast of Jamaica's finest young actors will light up the stage at Pantry Playhouse, Dumfries Road, in the return of the comedic revue, Season Rice, which is directed by Michael Daley and produced by Lewis.

Season Rice returns with a cast of outstanding multi-awarding winning actors, including the Actor Boy Best Supporting Actor, Lawrence 'Max' Woodham and Best Supporting Actress, Nadean Rawlins; Prime Minister Youth Awardee and JCDC Multiple Award winner - Andre Morris; Noelle Kerr (of Love Games, Royal Palm Estate and Me and Mi Krew); Craig McNally and Lewis.

Lewis, a former member of the University Singers and the Jamaica Folk Singers, said it was only natural she would produce a stage production, saying it was on the stage she developed her interest in the performing arts as a child and at university.

Lewis added: "Remobilising the cast and production was easy as everyone so enjoyed being a part of the first staging of the show and was eager to do it again. The inclusion of new scenes and the new cast members add a freshness and dynamism to the original show to ensure that Season Rice provide the usual laughter and plenty mix-up and spice."

Season Rice comprises more than 20 sketches, exploring political, religious and social values relevant to Jamaica.
