Act on JCF review
We welcome Commissioner of Police Rear Admiral Hardley Lewin's assurance reported in The Gleaner of February 20. In his keynote address to the chartered accountants that the report of the strategic review of the Jamaica Constabulary Force was now completed and that the report would not be one of those where recommendations will be ignored. It is important that the commissioner of police must move expeditiously to have these recommendations implemented without any further delay.
I am forced to reflect on a report that spoke to a frightening encounter with two cops. The allegations are so frightening that the commissioner of police should cause a thorough investigation to be carried out into this matter, and the results should be made public.
It is imperative that the public reposes some amount of trust in the Jamaica Constabulary Force. Mr Commissioner of Police, let us try to fix the problems now to the betterment of the force and ultimately to the benefit of this nation. The time to act is now!

Hoping for the truth to come out
I am saddened by the tragedy that the teacher from John's Hall fatally stabbed her husband in a dispute. I pray that the truth will come out in time and justice will prevail. I know that oftentimes abusive situations can lead to this level of violence in a relationship. However, your article concerns me. It seems that the husband is already tried and convicted without any evidence, only hearsay.

Mothers, be alert!
It is quite shocking to say the least, when one reads the article, prominent businessman, with branches of his organisation in various part of the country, has sexually molested his daughter his 12-year-old daughter. He must be metally challenged.
Dare I ask the question: How could anyone find sexual pleasure in his own child?
Mothers, let's start now; if you have not yet, teach our little girls that if they are touched on part of their bodies that makes them uncomfortable they should tell someone; more importantly, mothers be alert if you have adults, be it male or female, around your children.
